Welcome
To LoneWillow
Farm and Roane Grown
We grow a wide variety of herbaceous perennials
and
herbs that we hope will find a home in your garden. Since just
which plants those will be is a very personal choice, we try to offer as
much information as we can to help you decide. And, occasionally I can't
help but offer my own opinion. Of course, gardening is a very
site-specific venture and you may find plants grow differently in your
locale. If you are new to gardening, you may want to visit pages listed
in the "Plant Information" box at the left of the page.
| Plants are listed by scientific name, by type,
and by traits. You can use the Quick Find to look for plants by
common or scientific name. Our Advance Search allows you to
search by a variety of characteristics. Refer to the plant
information on the left for more information about gardening and
specific types of perennials. |
Our plants are grown both under cover and in outdoor gardens. Both potted and BR (dug fresh at the time of shipping) plants have a well established root system and are ready to take off in your garden.
All our plants are inspected by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture and guaranteed to be healthy and true to variety. For more detailed information see the
ordering section. Our goal is to exceed your expectation -
please let us know if we do not.
Take advantage of overstocked plants in the
Specials section.

Herb shipping: Most of the herbs are grown from seed and timed for my retail sales so they are best shipped in May. I can ship them sooner but they will, of course, be smaller. If you order herbs that fall into this group, I'll contact you and we'll work it out.

A word about sizes
and pricing: Our plants continual flow from starts,
into various sized pots, bumped up to larger pots, into the
ground, then divided again. With each variety in any one of
these stages, I found it far too consuming to keep the size
updated on the website.
Price is based on several factors: size of the
plant; availability and demand, propagation results, and source
(i.e. patented plants need to be purchased every year). So,
pricing tends to look like this: (Of course, there are
exceptions)
Perennials: Divisions and small pots (4", qts.)
$5.00-$6.50; Established gallon pots and select varieties
$6.50-$8.00.
Herbs: Potted herbs (2"-3") $1.50-$3.00; Larger
pots (4", qts.) and select herbs $5.00-$6.50.
Bottom Line: Our goal is to exceed your expectation -
please let us know if we do not. |
